Nosey Nina’s Holiday Bath Salts

Objectives

To learn how to create holiday bath salts and to appreciate our amazing sense of smell

Materials

  • Epson salt (available at most drug stores)
  • Glycerin (available at most drug stores)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Large bowl
  • Large spoon
  • Scented oil (potpourri oil or cooking extracts work well)
  • Measuring cup
  • Teaspoon
  • Small clear jars or decorative packaging materials

Procedure

Pour two cups of Epsom salt and one teaspoon of glycerin in the bowl. Put a few drops of food coloring in the mixture. Choose your favorite scent to put in the salts. (Place one-half teaspoon of scented oil or extract in the salt.Use more if you want a stronger scent.) Mix together, and place in decorative container.
